Building Internal Capabilities
Building internal competencies is a way to not only ensure Diversity & Inclusion efforts now… but more importantly down the road as you continue to strengthen the foundation of a powerful and successful organization.
Building and Maintaining an Infrastructure
JLA believes in supporting organizations to create their own sustainability. We have assisted with the development of D&I strategies and implementation with organizations in various industries. We have a clear understanding of the value internal resources have to develop and sustain a culture of respect and inclusion.
Here are some of the ways we can help:
- Educational Development
Leader and Champion Competency Tool and Education
This integrated self-diagnostic tool is designed to assess the Diversity & Inclusion maturation and competency level of any leader, employee group, council or champion. The assessment has six competencies we believe are instrumental in developing D&I subject matter expertise. By identifying improvement needs and offering the competency building education program, the organization will better foster and sustain an inclusive workplace culture that ultimately leads to a more engaged and productive workforce.
HR: Partners in Leading and Supporting Diversity & Inclusion
The Diversity and Inclusion function has steadily grown within corporate America and around the globe, yet has often been viewed as a standalone. Imagine HR and Diversity & Inclusion as powerful allies.
To fully achieve a diverse and inclusive workplace culture the benefits of collaboration are significant when it comes to:
- Attracting and Retaining Key Talent
- Assessment and Feedback
- Strategic Deployment and Succession
- Leadership Development

Our Train-the-Trainer (TTT)
Jonamay Lambert & Associates is a pioneer in the field of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) training. We pride ourselves on having certified hundreds of internal and external trainers. TTT is totally aligned with our desire to build internal capabilities.
It’s not likely for a D&I facilitator to know everything about all the dimensions of diversity. Our approach is focused primarily on process rather than content. The D&I facilitator is – a facilitator of the process.
The difference between a D&I trainer and a D&I facilitator is a trainer teaches. A facilitator uses what a participant knows, and through facilitated discussion, leads individuals to unique insights and discoveries. JLA’s approach is a combination of the two.
Our TTT approach concentrates on four primary competencies:
- Active Listening
Like with all of our education, we are keenly aware of designing content and facilitating using adult learning theories and an experiential approach.
We believe learning takes place “through repeated experiences,” that’s why we use a spiral curriculum, which allows for previous lessons to be reinforced, while at the same time advancing a higher level. JLA offers ongoing, coordinated efforts to ensure D&I concepts are firmly embedded in leadership, professional development training and new employee training and onboarding.
