Describe your role at Jonamay Lambert & Associates and what you enjoy about it: As Contributing Editor, I create white papers, social media content, and additional documents as needed. I am thrilled to be part of the JLA team, because of the firm’s commitment to excellent service that enables our clients to identify and employ the advantages of global diversity.
Your personal mission statement: Success begins and ends with effective communication.
Surprising fact about you: I wrote a speech for Scottie Pippin, formerly of the Chicago Bulls.
What do you value most? My wife Ann and our children Peter, Sarah, Christopher and James.
Paul J. Butera, PhD, is a dedicated advocate for effective writing, because it has been vital to a diverse career in the public, private, and academic sectors. Dr. Butera has been a successful community relations planner, public information officer, video producer, the chief writer for two magazines, professor and a corporate speechwriter.  This breadth of experience has enabled him to tailor his writing to meet the specific needs, values, and goals of a diversity of audiences from congressional committee members and public hearing participants to cancer researchers and D&I professionals. He inherited his commitment to diversity and inclusion from his father and mother who were committed activists. Currently, he teaches English and women’s literature at the City Colleges of Chicago and lives in Chicago with his wife of more than 35 years and his youngest son, James. James’s two brothers and his sister are busy working in California, Chicago and London.
